A journalist and broadcaster for over fifteen years. His career has covered multiple areas in both print and broadcasting. As a young journalist at the Sundaytimes Benjamin focused his energies on music journalism and lifestyle reporting, while in radio broadcasting he has been versatile in both news and music content. Benjamin’s interest in music started at an early age, with his parents exposing him to overabundance of music crossing genres from gospel to jazz, dance to soul music. His first radio gig was on Tshwane FM, while he was studying journalist at the Tshwane University of Technology, where he hosted a World Music and Avant-Garde jazz show he titled Culture Beat. After his short three year stint working for newspapers the radio bug started itching in his psyche, which led him to move to Cape Town where he had the opportunity to return to his passion of radio. While working for a now-defunct continental radio station, he produced and presented a jazz program on Fine Music Radio, the only classical and jazz music station in Cape Town located at the Artscape Theatre Complex.
